*Policy on Names*

After much thought, I've decided that I will refer to my deceased relatives that I'm researching by their full names, or occasionally by their family nicknames to save time and tedium for the reader. I will refer to my living relatives by their first names only. I figure my living relatives care about their privacy and would like me to protect it—the dead ones not so much!

A Word About Dates

The usual format for dates in genealogical records is day/month/year. I'm not really used to this particular format, so in order to get myself in the habit of recording dates this way, I'm using the format throughout the blog, from the dates of the blog posts to any dates mentioned in the blog posts.
